Who will lead Kerala? Venugopal and Chennithala meet Sonia Gandhi as race intensifies

Following the Congress-led UDF’s landslide victory in the Kerala Assembly elections, the process of selecting the new Chief Minister has gained momentum. Prominent leaders KC Venugopal and Ramesh Chennithala met with Congress Parliamentary Party leader Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday to discuss the leadership. Along with them, Leader of Opposition VD Satheesan is also a key contender for the top post.
Party Leadership to Finalize Decision Ramesh Chennithala stated that the final decision regarding the Chief Minister will be taken by the party high command. He emphasized that the landslide victory belongs to the people and leadership should be decided through consensus, not via social media campaigns or flex-board endorsements. Selecting a leader among multiple strong candidates remains a primary challenge for the Congress leadership.
Observers to Oversee Legislative Meeting The Congress high command has appointed Ajay Maken and Mukul Wasnik as observers to consult with the newly elected MLAs. The Legislative Party meeting is scheduled to begin at 10:30 AM on Thursday at the party headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram. The outcome of this meeting is expected to clear the air on who will lead the state for the next five years.
