Supplementary Voter List Out Today! 2.8 Million Names Expected; Is Your Name Still on the Roll?

Ahead of the 2026 Assembly Elections, the Election Commission is set to release the first Supplementary Voter List this afternoon. Around 2.8 million names are expected to feature in this list. However, sources suggest a massive purge as nearly 40% of the 6 million pending applications—amounting to roughly 1 million names—are being deleted due to various discrepancies.

How to Check Your Name: The list will consist of two sections: ‘Addition’ and ‘Deletion.’ Voters can verify their status online at voters.eci.gov.in or via the ECI Net App by entering their EPIC number. Offline lists will be available at DM, SDO offices, and local polling booths.

Redressal Mechanism: If your name appears in the ‘Deletion’ list, you can file an appeal with the specially constituted 19 tribunals headed by retired judges. These tribunals will ensure that legitimate voters are not excluded from the democratic process.
