PM Modi Breaks Silence on War Impact: Dismisses Social Media Rumors and Reveals India’s ‘True Stand’

Addressing the Lok Sabha amid growing anxiety over the escalating conflict in West Asia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has cleared the air regarding the impact of the war on India. While social media has been flooded with doomsday predictions and rumors of an economic collapse, the Prime Minister presented a grounded and reassuring picture of the nation’s preparedness. Entering the 24th day of the conflict, the PM emphasized that India is vigilantly monitoring every development to safeguard its interests.

“The situation in West Asia is worrisome, and it is undoubtedly impacting the global economy and civilian lives,” PM Modi stated. However, he was quick to reassure citizens about India’s energy security. Highlighting the government’s strategic planning over the last decade, he mentioned that India has diversified its energy sources from 27 countries to 41. This diversification acts as a shield against the volatility caused by the blockade of crucial maritime routes like the Strait of Hormuz. He assured that the government is making every effort to ensure that the supply of petrol, diesel, and LPG remains uninterrupted for households.

A significant part of the Prime Minister’s address focused on the “infodemic” on social media. He warned the nation against falling prey to rumors and misinformation intended to create panic. “During such crises, some elements try to exploit the situation by spreading lies. We must face this with patience, restraint, and a calm mind—just as we did during the COVID-19 pandemic,” he added.

PM Modi also flagged concerns regarding national security and the safety of the nearly 10 million Indians working in the Gulf region. He informed the House that he has held multiple rounds of talks with regional heads of state to ensure the welfare of the Indian diaspora. Reaffirming India’s commitment to peace, he reiterated that “dialogue and diplomacy” are the only ways forward. By providing a clear roadmap and debunking viral myths, the Prime Minister has sought to stabilize public sentiment during these turbulent global times.
