“No Washing Machine Here!” Md. Salim Slams TMC & BJP; Warns Naushad Against Arabul Islam’s Entry

The political climate in Bhangur has reached a boiling point as speculations of heavyweight leader Arabul Islam joining the Indian Secular Front (ISF) surface. CPIM State Secretary Md. Salim has issued a scathing warning to alliance partner Naushad Siddiqui, asserting that there is no room for “tainted” leaders within the Left-led front. Salim’s “Washing Machine” jibe, aimed at TMC and BJP, has now become the centerpiece of the 2026 election discourse.
Addressing a rally, Salim stated, “Unlike the BJP or TMC, we do not have a washing machine to clean the sins of corrupt leaders. Arabul Islam has spent years terrorizing our workers; he cannot and will not be part of our movement.” This public outburst is seen as a direct ultimatum to ISF chief Naushad Siddiqui, who has been maintaining a strategic silence on Arabul’s potential crossover.
Political analysts believe that if the ISF decides to accommodate Arabul Islam to consolidate the local vote bank in Bhangur, it could lead to an immediate collapse of the Left-ISF alliance. Salim’s firm stance reinforces the CPIM’s attempt to maintain a “clean image” ahead of the high-stakes 2026 battle. The ball is now in Naushad’s court—to choose between a local strongman and a statewide ideological alliance.
