LPG Crisis Relief! Get Kerosene at Ration Shops for Nearly Half the Market Price!
As the global energy crisis continues to push LPG prices higher and cause supply disruptions, the government has stepped in to provide an affordable alternative. While kerosene is being sold for nearly ₹100 per liter in the open market, consumers can now purchase it through the Public Distribution System (PDS) at significantly lower rates. In Kolkata and surrounding regions, the ration shop price for kerosene is approximately ₹64.20 per liter.
To combat the shortage of cooking gas caused by ongoing tensions in West Asia, the Centre has allocated an additional 4,164 kiloliters of kerosene to West Bengal. This move is specifically aimed at supporting rural and low-income households who are feeling the pinch of the LPG crunch. Digital Ration Card holders can now avail of their monthly quota from authorized fair-price shops. Authorities have been alerted to prevent any black marketing of this subsidized fuel to ensure it reaches the intended beneficiaries.
