Popular rapper Badshah has landed in hot water as calls for a ban on his music grow louder in Uttar Pradesh. The controversy erupted after several of his tracks were labeled “obscene” and derogatory toward women. Renu Bhatia, Chairperson of the Women’s Commission, stated that such lyrics have a toxic impact on society and negatively influence the youth.

Sensing the gravity of the situation, the singer released an urgent statement expressing regret. “Being a son of Haryana myself, I would never intentionally hurt the sentiments of my people. I cannot even dream of disrespecting the dignity of women. I am truly sorry,” Badshah clarified. Despite the apology, the debate over artistic freedom versus social responsibility continues to rage in the state, leaving his upcoming performances in uncertainty.
