Low Visibility or Reckless Driving? 3 Killed and Several Injured as Bus Hits Parked Truck

A tragic road accident shook the Bilaspur-Raipur National Highway right at the start of the week, claiming three lives and leaving several others injured. The horrific incident occurred early Monday morning around 5:30 AM near a petrol pump in Darchura village under the Balodabazar district. A passenger bus traveling from Ambikapur towards Raipur crashed violently into the rear end of a stalled, stationary truck parked on the roadside.
At the time of the collision, a total of 22 passengers were on board the bus. The sudden and massive impact triggered panic and chaos inside the cabin, throwing sleeping passengers forward from their seats and causing severe trauma. The rear structural framework of the heavy truck pierced deep into the front compartment of the bus, trapping multiple commuters inside the mangled metal.
Upon receiving information, local police and emergency response teams rushed to the accident site immediately. Ambulances and specialized rescue units equipped with gas cutters were deployed to extract the trapped victims. The injured were swiftly rushed to a nearby government hospital in Sigma for urgent medical attention, where the condition of several admitted individuals remains critical.
Preliminary police investigations suggest that low early-morning visibility or poor lighting conditions may have prevented the bus driver from spotting the stationary truck in time. Authorities are also probing other possible angles, including overspeeding or driver fatigue. The unfortunate incident has left the local community and the victims’ families in deep shock.
