WB Polls 2026: Mamata Warns of Voter List Tampering; Places Faith in Supreme Court’s Vigilance

Ahead of the high-stakes 2026 West Bengal Assembly Elections, CM Mamata Banerjee has accused the authorities of deleting names from the voter list to satisfy the BJP. Reacting to the Supreme Court’s intervention on Tuesday, she stated that any attempt to disenfranchise legitimate voters for political gains would be met with strong resistance. “The game is not over yet. They are doing this to please the BJP, but we won’t let it happen,” she asserted.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the Supreme Court would now keep a strict vigil on the voter revision process, which she considers a significant victory for the people. She warned the administration and the Election Commission that the Trinamool Congress would monitor every booth to ensure that the electoral rolls remain transparent and free from political bias.
