Trinamool Leader Slams BJP Over Soldier’s Death: “Why is the Centre Silent on the Manipur Bloodshed?”

TMC National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee has launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah following the tragic death of a Bengali soldier in conflict-ridden Manipur. Banerjee took to the stage to condemn the BJP’s “double standards,” urging the central leadership to stop talking about “Poriborton” (change) in West Bengal and instead fix the deteriorating situation in Manipur.

“It is heartbreaking to see our brave jawans, especially from Bengal, sacrificing their lives while the top leadership in Delhi is busy with electoral theatrics,” Abhishek stated. He questioned the eerie silence of the Prime Minister regarding the ongoing ethnic violence and security lapses in the Northeastern state. According to Banerjee, the BJP is more interested in capturing power in Bengal than ensuring the safety of soldiers and civilians in Manipur.

The TMC heavyweight further alleged that the Centre’s “mismanagement” has turned Manipur into a zone of permanent unrest. By highlighting the martyrdom of a Bengali soldier, Abhishek aims to resonate with the regional sentiments of the people of Bengal, portraying the BJP as a party that neglects the sacrifices made by the state’s residents. This verbal onslaught marks a significant escalation in the political tug-of-war between the TMC and the BJP as the election fever intensifies.
