A pall of gloom descended over Uttar Pradesh following two major road accidents that claimed nine lives in Hapur and Muzaffarnagar. Six people died in a collision involving a wedding party bus, while three others lost their lives in a separate car crash.
In Hapur, the accident occurred late at night in the Dhaulana police station area. A bus carrying 12 members of a wedding procession was returning from Bulandshahr to Ghaziabad when it collided with a truck. The impact caused the bus to overturn and fall into a roadside ditch. District Magistrate and SP rushed to the spot as local police rescued the passengers. Six people were declared dead, and seven survivors are in critical condition.
The second tragedy took place in Muzaffarnagar on Sunday afternoon. Five friends working in a private firm in Gurugram were heading to Haridwar when their car lost control on the Sisona flyover. The vehicle smashed through the railing and plunged to the ground below. Police confirmed that despite rapid evacuation, three youths succumbed to their injuries. Families of the victims have been notified, and investigations are underway.
