Tollywood Strikes! Prosenjit, Rituparna Halt Shoots After Rahul Banerjee’s Tragic Death

The Bengali entertainment industry came to a grinding halt on Tuesday as top stars and technicians launched a massive strike. Following the untimely demise of actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee, the Technician’s Studio turned into a protest hub. Icons like Prosenjit Chatterjee, Rituparna Sengupta, and Sreelekha Mitra gathered to demand better safety protocols and a neutral probe into Rahul’s death.

The late actor’s wife, Priyanka Sarkar, was also present, visibly moved by the industry-wide solidarity. While veterans like Manasi Sinha expressed regret over not protesting against negligence earlier, the atmosphere remained tense with a collective call for change.

Adding fuel to the fire, producer Rana Sarkar took to social media to blame TV channel managements. He argued that while producers are ready to follow safety SOPs, channels often impose unrealistic deadlines and last-minute script changes, leading to hazardous working conditions. As the stars refuse to return to the floors, the industry faces a critical turning point regarding artist safety and corporate accountability.
