“The Roots of Corruption Run Deep”! Dilip Ghosh Vows Mass Arrests of Heavyweights After May 4

The political atmosphere in Bengal has reached a boiling point following the arrest of I-PAC Director Vinesh Chandel by the ED. Reacting sharply to the development, BJP candidate Dilip Ghosh termed the arrest as a mere “trailer” and alleged that illegal money from coal, sand, and cattle smuggling is being pumped into the state’s politics.
Ghosh asserted that once the BJP forms the government on May 4, a massive crackdown will be launched against heavyweight politicians involved in scams. He highlighted previous high-profile cases involving leaders like Anubrata Mondal and Jyotipriya Mallick, stating that the central agencies must now strike the “head of the dragon.”
The recent ED raids at I-PAC premises and the subsequent legal tussle between the CM and the agency in the Supreme Court have already kept the state on edge. Ghosh’s explosive remarks suggest that the BJP is prepared to make corruption the focal point of the final electoral battle. While analysts believe tackling systemic corruption will be a challenge for any new government, the opposition is clearly looking to capitalize on this latest investigative breakthrough.
