Spring Showers Bring Relief, Rain Drenches Bengal, Heavy Spell Expected Sunday
The state witnessed refreshing showers as a cyclonic circulation over Bangladesh brought a much-needed break from the sweltering heat often seen during this season.
South Bengal: While Friday may remain largely dry, the weather is set to turn dramatic from Sunday. The Met office has predicted light to moderate thundershowers in Kolkata and several districts from Sunday to Tuesday. Districts in the western belt, including Murshidabad, Birbhum, Bankura, and East/West Bardhaman, are on alert for thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds of 40-50 kmph.
North Bengal: Heavy rainfall is expected in Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar on Friday. While there might be a slight dip in activity on Saturday, rainfall intensity is likely to pick up again starting Sunday.
Kolkata is expected to have partially cloudy skies today with minimal chances of rain. However, the state-wide scattered rain pattern is expected to continue until Wednesday.
