A sensational theft has taken place at the Mumbai residence of Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel. The actress’s mother, Asha Patel, filed an FIR at the Marine Drive Police Station, alleging the theft of valuable gold and diamond jewelry. Acting on the complaint, the police have arrested a housemaid.

According to police sources, a diamond bangle worth approximately Rs 5 lakh went missing from Asha Patel’s Churchgate residence in January. Suspicion immediately fell on the maid, Seema. After repeatedly requesting her to return the jewelry for about five to six months to no avail, Ameesha’s mother finally approached the police. A case was registered under Section 306 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and the Crime Detection Team arrested the accused from the Virar area. A court has remanded her to police custody until September 15. The maid had been working there for nearly a year and a half. The stolen jewelry is yet to be recovered, and police are investigating if she has any accomplices or a prior criminal record.
