Eastern Railway has achieved a historic milestone in the financial year 2025-26 by generating over ₹600 crore in revenue from scrap sales as of March 30, 2026. This feat comfortably shatters the previous all-time high of ₹537 crore set in FY 2024-25.

• Driving Revenue: Under the ‘Zero Scrap Mission,’ the organization focused on identifying and auctioning redundant assets to convert idle scrap into productive revenue.
• Leadership and Execution: Guided by General Manager Milind Deouskar and Chief Material Manager Sandeep Shukla, the team implemented a strategic auction calendar throughout the year across all depots and workshops.
• Efficiency at Peak: Officials stated that prompt scrap disposal not only boosts the exchequer but also improves workplace safety and aesthetics by decluttering railway premises.

This success highlights Eastern Railway’s commitment to financial discipline and sustainable asset management, setting a new benchmark for Indian Railways.
