Poverty and depression lead to horrific double murder! Father kills twin daughters in Kanpur

In a bone-chilling incident in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, a father identified as Shashi Ranjan Mishra murdered his 11-year-old twin daughters. Struggling with unemployment and severe mental depression, the accused claimed he didn’t want to leave his daughters behind after his planned suicide.

A Premeditated Crime According to police investigations, the murder was carefully planned. On the night of the incident, the accused mixed sedatives into his daughters’ food to make them unconscious. Once they fell asleep, he used a sharp weapon to slit their throats. The accused later confessed that since the death of his mother, he felt life was meaningless and feared for his daughters’ future in his absence.

Domestic Strife and Suspicion Shashi, a former medical representative, was reportedly suspicious of his wife and had installed CCTV cameras throughout the house. His instability was fueled by alcohol addiction and financial crisis. Although he intended to end his own life after the crime, he lacked the courage and eventually informed the police himself.
