Plot to Divide Bengal Post-Elections? Mamata Banerjee Drops a Political Bombshell!

The political atmosphere in West Bengal has reached a boiling point as Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee leveled sensational allegations against the Modi-led Central government. Shortly after the conclusion of the polls, the TMC supremo claimed that the BJP is hatching a meticulous “conspiracy” to divide Bengal. The focus of this controversy remains the strategic North Bengal region, which has long been a subject of separatist rhetoric by various local factions and certain BJP leaders.

Speaking with characteristic fire, Mamata Banerjee stated, “The BJP starts plotting to slice Bengal the moment elections are over. There is an active attempt to separate North Bengal, but I will never allow the partition of my state as long as I am alive.” She accused the Centre of using divisive tactics to compensate for their political shortcomings in the state. This outburst follows repeated calls from some BJP MPs and MLAs for a separate Union Territory or statehood for North Bengal, citing lack of development.

In response, the BJP has dismissed these claims as “scaremongering.” The saffron party maintains that the demand for better governance in North Bengal is a result of years of neglect by the Trinamool administration. However, Mamata’s aggressive stance signals that the “Identity of Bengal” will be the primary battlefield for the upcoming political cycles. With the state’s integrity at the heart of the debate, the confrontation between the State and the Centre is expected to intensify, leaving the people of Bengal caught in a high-stakes tug-of-war.
