Partha Chatterjee Skips ED Summons Again! Requests Interrogation at Home Citing Illness

Former West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chatterjee has reportedly written to the Enforcement Directorate (ED), requesting that officials interrogate him at his residence instead of the CGO Complex. Citing ill-health, Chatterjee has skipped multiple summons recently. However, ED sources indicate that they are unlikely to grant this request and are preparing to issue a fresh notice for his physical appearance.

The investigation into the SSC recruitment scam, which saw the recovery of over ₹50 crore in cash from Arpita Mukherjee’s flats in 2022, has intensified following Chatterjee’s recent bail. While Arpita Mukherjee complied with the second notice and appeared before the agency with relevant documents, Chatterjee remains elusive. With the Assembly elections approaching, this renewed legal pressure on the Behala West MLA has created ripples in Bengal’s political landscape.
