No ‘Miyans’ Here! CM Yogi Renames ‘Miyanpur’ to ‘Rabindranath Nagar’

In a landmark move, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has officially renamed ‘Miyanpur’ village in Lakhimpur Kheri to ‘Rabindranath Nagar’. During his visit, the CM distributed land ownership titles (pattas) to 331 Hindu refugee families from Bangladesh who had been living without legal rights for several decades.

Addressing a public rally, Yogi questioned why the village was named ‘Miyanpur’ when there was not a single ‘Miyan’ residing there. He accused the previous Congress government of hiding the community’s true identity for political gains. “The double-engine government has finally given you the legal recognition you deserve under the name of the great poet who gave us our National Anthem,” he stated.

Beyond the renaming, the CM inaugurated projects worth ₹1,311 crore and provided land deeds to over 4,000 Tharu tribal families and descendants of freedom fighters. Taking a swipe at the Samajwadi Party, he remarked that development is no longer confined to a single family or ‘Saifai,’ but belongs to all 25 crore citizens of Uttar Pradesh.
