No Gas Crisis in Jalpaiguri! Indian Oil Officials Quash Shortage Rumors After High-Level Meet
In a major relief to the residents of North Bengal, Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) officials have confirmed that there is no shortage of LPG cylinders in the Jalpaiguri district. This clarification came following a crucial review meeting chaired by the Additional District Magistrate (General) of Jalpaiguri to assess the current fuel situation. The administration took stock of the supply chain amidst growing public anxiety regarding a potential gas crisis.
During the meeting, IOCL representatives provided data showing that the current reserves in the district are more than sufficient to meet the local demand. Officials pointed out that the recent rush for “panic bookings” was primarily driven by misinformation on social media, which temporarily overburdened the delivery staff. They reassured consumers that as long as bookings are made as per regular requirements, there will be no delay in doorstep delivery.
The district administration has further strengthened its vigil to prevent any artificial scarcity. The ADM directed officials to monitor dealers closely and ensure that no hoarding or overcharging takes place. Strict instructions have been issued to penalize those found exploiting the situation. By debunking the rumors of a shortage, the authorities have urged the public to remain calm and avoid unnecessary stockpiling, ensuring that the distribution remains smooth for everyone.
