The historic Polo Ground in Asansol transformed into a sea of saffron today as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address a massive gathering. Although the rally was scheduled for 1:30 PM, supporters from Bankura, Purulia, and Durgapur flooded the venue three hours in advance. The surge was so intense that even the designated media enclosure was briefly occupied by supporters, requiring senior BJP leaders to intervene.

Security has been tightened significantly. Due to safety protocols, the PM’s helicopter will land at the Railway Loco Stadium, from where he will travel 2.5 km by road to the venue. This marks a significant return for the PM to this ground since his iconic 2014 speech. However, the event hasn’t been without friction; BJP has alleged that TMC workers are obstructing minibuses carrying party supporters to the rally. As the industrial belt waits for the PM’s vision for growth, the atmosphere in Asansol remains electric with slogans and high expectations.
