Model Code of Conduct Hits Tollywood! Swasthya Sathi Camp Postponed Due to WB Polls!

The announcement of the 2026 West Bengal Assembly Election schedule on Sunday has led to the temporary suspension of the special ‘Swasthya Sathi’ camp organized for the Tollywood film industry. With the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) coming into immediate effect following the Election Commission’s notification, the welfare drive for technicians and artists has been deferred.

Why the Suspension? As per the Election Commission’s guidelines, any government-sponsored welfare activity or special enrollment drive is prohibited once the poll dates are announced to ensure a level playing field. To comply with these regulations, the authorities decided to put the Tollywood health card camp on hold.

Dev Steps In to Reassure Workers Superstar and TMC MP Dev, who has been instrumental in organizing such welfare initiatives for the industry, was quick to reassure the fraternity. He clarified that the postponement is strictly due to election protocols. Dev promised that the camp would be resumed with full vigour once the polling process concludes. He urged the studio para workers not to worry, emphasizing that their health security remains a top priority and the pending cards will be issued immediately after the elections.
