AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has launched a scathing attack on West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, blaming her policies for the BJP’s rise in the state. Rejecting the “B-team” tag, Owaisi claimed that the TMC leadership views the Muslim community merely as a tool for winning elections. “Mamata uses Muslims like cattle—pulls them close during polls and discards them later,” Owaisi alleged while addressing the media.

Recalling political history, Owaisi pointed out that Mamata Banerjee herself was once a member of the BJP-led NDA cabinet and remained in the alliance even during the Gujarat riots. He questioned why the CM has failed to establish Special Economic Zones (SEZs) for the upliftment of Muslims.

After cutting ties with rebel leader Humayun Kabir following a controversial sting video, AIMIM has decided to go solo. The party plans to field candidates in 9 key constituencies across Malda, Murshidabad, Birbhum, and Asansol. This “Go-it-alone” strategy by Owaisi is set to create ripples in Bengal’s political landscape, potentially splitting the minority vote bank ahead of the crucial polls.
