Love Triumphs Over Borders! Indo-Pak Couple Reunited in Jodhpur After 15 Year Struggle

The formidable geopolitical barriers between India and Pakistan have finally bowed to love as a Pakistani doctor, Raksha Suthar, reached Jodhpur to join her husband, Amit Suthar. This reunion marks the culmination of a grueling 15-year wait and a decade-long diplomatic battle. The story of this software engineer and doctor duo has captured hearts, proving that human emotions can transcend even the most rigid national boundaries.
A Neutral Wedding in Nepal The separation began in 2011 when Amit’s family migrated to India, leaving his fiancée Raksha behind in Karachi. Due to strained ties and visa complications, the couple remained apart for years. In a desperate move in June 2025, both families met in Kathmandu, Nepal, to solemnize the marriage on neutral ground. However, the struggle continued as Raksha had to return to Pakistan while Amit returned to India post-wedding.
Diplomatic Intervention and Warm Welcome After 10 months of legal hurdles following their marriage, the Indian government intervened to grant Raksha a 45-day visitor visa. Her arrival in Jodhpur’s Pal area on Monday was celebrated like a festival by the local community and her in-laws. While she is currently on a short-term visa, the process for a Long-Term Visa (LTV) will be initiated soon to ensure her permanent residency in India.
