A chilling incident unfolded in the Nabagram area of Rajpur-Sonarpur, South 24 Parganas, early Monday morning. The bullet-ridden body of 37-year-old Arup Mondal was discovered inside his apartment, sparking intense panic among residents. Police have arrested the victim’s girlfriend and a close friend in connection with the case.

According to police sources, Arup lived alone in the flat. Family members rushed to the spot after receiving a tip-off at 2 AM, only to find him lying in a pool of blood. Investigators recovered two firearms and six rounds of ammunition from the scene. A major twist emerged when the family pointed out that Arup was left-handed, yet the bullet wound was on the right side of his head, strongly suggesting a staged suicide.

Narendrapur Police are currently interrogating the suspects to uncover the motive, while CCTV footage from the housing complex is being analyzed for further leads.
