In a disturbing turn of events, a law student who visited the Narendrapur Police Station to report an eve-teasing incident has accused the Inspector-in-Charge (IC) of harassment and misconduct. The victim alleged that instead of taking action against the miscreants, the IC humiliated her and her family members, threatening them with dire consequences when they insisted on filing an FIR.

Being a student of law, the girl tried to remind the officer of her legal rights, which reportedly agitated the IC further. Shattered by the ordeal at the hands of those meant to protect them, the family has now reached out to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, seeking her urgent intervention. A formal complaint has been sent to Nabanna. While the district police high command has promised an impartial probe, the incident has sparked widespread outrage regarding the safety of women within police premises.
