‘Didi’ Files Nomination from Bhawanipore! CM Confident of Victory Across 294 Seats

The political epicenter of West Bengal, Bhawanipore, witnessed a massive surge of supporters as TMC Supremo Mamata Banerjee filed her nomination for the 2026 Assembly Elections on Wednesday. Walking from her Kalighat residence to the Alipore Survey Building, the Chief Minister was accompanied by a grand procession featuring senior leader Firhad Hakim and members of her family. The campaign slogan for her constituency—”Development in every house, the daughter of the house in Bhawanipore”—resonated throughout the march.
After completing the formalities, Mamata Banerjee launched a scathing attack on the deletion of 27 lakh names from the state’s voter list. “I believe these 27 lakh people still have the right to vote as per Supreme Court guidelines. We will move the court again if necessary,” she stated. Expressing supreme confidence, she appealed to voters across all 294 constituencies, declaring, “We will form the government again; our work continues.” Having remained undefeated in this seat for the last three terms, the “daughter of Bhawanipore” appears to be in a dominant position once again as she kicks off her official campaign.
