The long-standing debate over whether M.S. Dhoni was responsible for Yuvraj Singh’s exclusion from the Indian team has been addressed by former chief selector Sandeep Patil. Yuvraj’s father, Yograj Singh, has frequently accused Dhoni of sabotaging his son’s career, labeling the act as “unforgivable.”

However, Sandeep Patil, who served as the chairman of the selection committee for four years, has strongly refuted these claims. In a recent interview, Patil stated, “Not even once—neither in any selection meeting, tour, nor during a match—did Dhoni ask for Yuvraj to be dropped.” Patil emphasized that the former captain had full faith in the selection committee and never interfered with their decisions. This public clarification from a former selector provides a significant counter-narrative to Yograj Singh’s recurring accusations.
