A wave of shock gripped West Bengal following two tragic incidents in Howrah and Kolkata. In Uluberia, Howrah, a man named Pradip Mukherjee allegedly hacked his wife and minor son to death with a sharp weapon following a domestic dispute. After the brutal murders, Pradip attempted suicide by consuming poison. He is currently battling for life at a local hospital.

Simultaneously, a horrifying case of negligence surfaced at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College. A man in his 40s died after getting trapped in a lift at the Trauma Building. He had brought his son for a check-up when the lift suddenly plummeted to the basement. His family alleged that despite desperate cries for help, no assistance arrived due to the absence of a lift operator. The victim suffered a fatal heart attack inside the suffocating lift. Following the tragedy, angry relatives staged a massive protest, demanding the Health Minister’s resignation.
