CV Ananda Bose steps down: R.N. Ravi appointed as the new Governor of West Bengal!

Following the sudden resignation of CV Ananda Bose, former IPS officer R.N. Ravi has arrived in Kolkata to take charge as the new Governor of West Bengal. His swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for 11 AM today at Raj Bhavan, with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, and Assembly Speaker Biman Banerjee expected to attend.

While the ruling TMC claims Bose was forced to quit by the Centre—an allegation the central government has denied—the political climate remains charged. R.N. Ravi brings a wealth of experience from his service in the CBI and IB, particularly in counter-terrorism and internal security. He also served as the Deputy to National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.

However, Ravi’s tenure in Tamil Nadu was marked by intense friction with the MK Stalin-led DMK government. Given his past history of confrontations, his arrival in West Bengal has sparked intense speculation. Political observers are keenly watching how the equation between Nabanna and Raj Bhavan will evolve under his leadership.
