Countering Lakshmi Bhandar! Amit Shah’s ‘Bhoy Noy Bhorosha’ Pledges ₹3000 Monthly for Women

With the West Bengal Assembly Elections just around the corner, Union Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled the BJP’s election manifesto, titled ‘Bhoy Noy Bhorosha’ (Trust, Not Fear), in Kolkata on Friday. In a direct challenge to the TMC’s flagship welfare schemes, the BJP has promised a monthly allowance of ₹3,000 for all women in the state.
The manifesto also aims to woo the youth with a promised ₹3,000 monthly unemployment allowance and state government employees with the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission within 45 days of assuming power. Highlighting women’s empowerment, the party pledged reservation for women in jobs and a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption.
“Our vision is to free Bengal from 15 years of terror and exploitative governance,” Shah stated during the release. The ‘Sankalp Patra’ also focuses on a hardline stance against infiltration and ensuring a transparent recruitment process for government jobs. Analysts believe the ₹3,000 payout promise could be a significant game-changer in the upcoming electoral battle.
