With only three days left for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s massive rally at Brigade Parade Ground on March 14, preparations have hit a minor speculative speed bump. Rumors surfaced on Wednesday that the Special Protection Group (SPG) had ordered the dismantling of the stage for a thorough soil inspection to ensure top-tier security.

Clarifying the situation, senior BJP leader Raju Banerjee, who is overseeing the arrangements, smiled off the rumors. He explained that the “actual” main stage hasn’t even been built yet. “The structure currently visible is merely temporary. It is a standard procedure for the SPG to inspect the site and provide security clearance first. The main stage, based on their specific dimensions and safety protocols, will be constructed only after their approval,” Banerjee stated. He assured that the final stage would be erected rapidly under high-security guidelines once the SPG gives the green light.
