Challenge to Election Dates! Nawsad Siddique Moves High Court Over Flawed Voter List

ISF MLA Nawsad Siddique has moved the Calcutta High Court, demanding a stay on the upcoming Assembly elections until the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls is fully completed. Siddique alleges that the current voter list remains riddled with errors and that millions of eligible citizens are yet to be correctly enlisted due to the unfinished revision process.

In his petition, the Bhangar MLA argued that conducting elections with an inaccurate list would disenfranchise a large section of the population. He has prayed for the cancellation of the current poll schedule and requested the court to direct the Election Commission to finalize a transparent and error-free voter list first. This legal challenge adds a new layer of uncertainty to the high-voltage election atmosphere in Bengal.
