Big Relief for Suvendu Adhikari! Calcutta HC Grants Interim Protection in Khardah Police Case

In a significant legal victory ahead of the upcoming Assembly Elections, Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari has secured a 12-week protection from the Calcutta High Court. Justice Ajay Mukhopadhyay, while hearing a petition against a 2020 FIR filed by Khardah Police, directed that no coercive action can be taken against the BJP candidate for Nandigram and Bhawanipur until the next hearing in July.

Simultaneously, his brother Dibyendu Adhikari, the BJP candidate from Egra, also received relief from the High Court. After facing delays from authorities, the state government finally handed over his ‘No-Dues’ certificate following judicial intervention. This clearance is crucial for his nomination process, ensuring both brothers are now legally set for the electoral battle.
