Big Boost for Govt Employees! 8th Pay Commission Sets Dates for Major Talks

In a significant move toward finalizing new pay structures, the 8th Central Pay Commission is set to begin a series of high-level meetings with various unions and central government associations. As per the official notification, the first round of discussions will take place in New Delhi on April 28, 29, and 30, followed by a visit to Pune on May 4 and 5, 2026.

Stakeholders wishing to present their views must submit a formal memorandum on the commission’s portal (8cpc.gov.in). The deadline to request a meeting, along with a ‘Unique Memo ID,’ is fixed for April 20 via email. Future sessions are also being planned for Mumbai and other major states to ensure comprehensive feedback on salary revisions and fitment factors.

Adding to the excitement, the Commission has also opened applications for ‘Consultant’ positions on a contractual basis. These roles offer a lucrative remuneration of up to ₹1.80 lakh per month for full-time engagement. Eligible candidates can apply online through the portal as per the memorandum issued on April 10, 2026. These meetings are expected to play a decisive role in the upcoming pay structure for millions of employees.
