Betrayed and Brutalized! Bengali Mason’s Wife Gang-Raped in Odisha; Both Accused Behind Bars

A horrific incident of gang-rape involving a Bengali woman has come to light in the Tamando area of Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The victim, whose husband works as a mason in Chandaka, was brutally assaulted by a man she considered an acquaintance and his accomplice.

  • The Incident: Following a domestic dispute with her husband last Friday (March 27), the woman decided to leave her home. She sought help from a local youth, Bichitra Sahu, to drop her off at the railway station.
  • The Betrayal: Instead of the station, Sahu took her to a house in Narasinghpur near AIIMS. There, Sahu and his friend Narayan Swain gang-raped her and threatened to kill her if she revealed the ordeal.
  • Arrest and Investigation: Overcoming trauma, the victim filed a police complaint on Monday. The Tamando police acted swiftly, registering Case No. 102/2026 and arresting both Bichitra Sahu and Narayan Swain.

The court has denied bail to the accused, sending them to judicial custody. Medical examinations have been completed, and the police are further interrogating the culprits to build a foolproof case.
