A wave of panic swept through South Dinajpur’s Balurghat area on Sunday afternoon after a hospital worker was targeted in a brutal acid attack. The incident, which occurred in broad daylight on a busy street, has raised serious concerns about public safety in the region.

Details of the Incident: According to eyewitnesses, the victim, an employee of the Balurghat District Hospital, was intercepted by an unidentified assailant while he was on the road. Without warning, the attacker splashed acid on him and fled the scene immediately. The victim sustained severe burn injuries on multiple parts of his body and was seen screaming in agony. Locals rushed to his aid and moved him to the Balurghat District Hospital, where he is currently undergoing emergency treatment.
