The ‘Simple’ Chief Minister, No House or Car in Mamata’s Name, Assets Decline Over 5 Years!

Despite being a three-term Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee continues to lead a life devoid of luxury assets. On Wednesday, while filing her nomination for the Assembly elections at the Alipore Survey Building, the TMC supremo submitted an affidavit revealing that she owns neither a house nor a personal vehicle. Her address remains her ancestral home, which is not registered in her name.

According to the affidavit, Mamata has ₹75,700 in cash, while her bank savings amount to ₹12.76 lakh. Interestingly, her total movable assets—valued at ₹15.37 lakh—have decreased by approximately ₹1.34 lakh since 2021. Her primary sources of income remain royalties from her published books and songs, along with bank interest. Her only jewelry consists of 9.75 grams of gold. Furthermore, she maintains a completely clean record with zero FIRs or criminal cases filed against her, underscoring her transparent public image as she enters the electoral fray once again.
