Sudden Exit for ‘Chirosakha’! Manali and Sabyasachi to Take Over Star Jalsha’s 10 PM Slot

The tragic demise of actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee and the subsequent decision by artists’ unions to halt work with ‘Magic Moments’ has led to a major reshuffle in Star Jalsha’s programming. The popular show ‘Chirosakha’ has been discontinued abruptly to comply with the industry-wide protest. In its place, the channel is set to launch its new venture, ‘Sangsaraer Sankirtan,’ starting from the 13th.
The new serial marks the much-anticipated return of Manali De and Sabyasachi Chowdhury as the lead pair. They will be supported by legendary actors Paran Bandyopadhyay and Subhashish Mukhopadhyay. Ironically, Manali, who rose to fame with Leena Gangopadhyay’s scripts, is now filling the slot vacated by Leena’s production due to the ongoing legal investigation. With Zee Bangla’s ‘Kone Dekha Alo’ and ‘Anandi’ dominating the late-night slot, Star Jalsha is pinning its hopes on Manali’s popularity to reclaim the ratings. Given that ‘Chirosakha’ bowed out with a solid rating of 3, the pressure is now on ‘Sangsaraer Sankirtan’ to become the new slot leader.
