“Workers Will Guard the CM’s Seat”, Jayprakash Majumdar After High-Stakes TMC Meeting in Bhawanipur

The 2026 West Bengal Assembly Election is set for a historic showdown at the Bhawanipur constituency, where CM Mamata Banerjee faces a direct challenge from BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari. Ahead of her district campaign tours, Mamata Banerjee held a crucial workers’ meeting on Sunday at Ahindra Mancha with councillors and booth-level activists from all eight wards of the constituency.

During the meeting, TMC General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee urged workers to ensure a victory margin of over 60,000 votes for the Chief Minister. Addressing concerns over the ‘Special Intensive Revision’ (SIR) process, Mamata Banerjee assured that the TMC would provide comprehensive legal support to anyone whose name is unfairly excluded from the supplementary voter lists.

TMC State Vice-President Jayprakash Majumdar summed up the party’s strategy by stating, “Mamata Banerjee is looking after 293 seats across the state; her own seat will be taken care of by the grassroots workers.” With polling scheduled for the second phase on April 29, the TMC has made it clear that Bhawanipur remains their top priority.
