“Bengal is Now Bangladesh!” Dilip Ghosh Sparks Row Over Temple Attacks and Statue Vandalism

The political atmosphere in West Bengal took a volatile turn on Monday as BJP leaders Dilip Ghosh and Suvendu Adhikari launched a scathing attack on the ruling TMC. Dilip Ghosh, the BJP candidate from Kharagpur Sadar, claimed that the situation in Bengal has become identical to Bangladesh, alleging systematic persecution of Hindus and frequent attacks on temples.
In an interview, Ghosh alleged that Hindus from Murshidabad are fleeing to Malda due to extreme torture, all under the “protection of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.” Adding fuel to the fire, Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari reported that an idol of Lord Ram was vandalized in Nandigram by “anti-social elements” just days before Ram Navami. Adhikari accused the TMC government of being anti-Hindu and nurturing goons for vote-bank politics.
Amidst these allegations, Dilip Ghosh also lauded PM Narendra Modi for achieving the milestone of being the longest-serving non-Congress head of government, stating that it is a moment of pride for all Indians. With polling scheduled for April 23 and 29, and results due on May 4, these explosive remarks have intensified the electoral battle in the state.
