Explosive Claims in Nandigram! Suvendu Adhikari Predicts 10 Lakh Names to be Purged from Voter List

In a high-voltage development ahead of the upcoming elections, Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari has made a sensational claim regarding the voter rolls. While campaigning in Nandigram, Adhikari stated that the Election Commission is set to release a supplementary voter list today, which could see the removal of over 10 lakh names.

Adhikari claimed that nearly 60 lakh names are currently under the scanner or “under consideration” by the Commission. He suggested that after a rigorous verification process, a significant chunk—exceeding 10 lakh—might be struck off for being invalid or illegal. “The era of fake voters and rigged lists is coming to an end,” Adhikari remarked, welcoming the potential move.

This announcement has sent shockwaves through the political corridors of West Bengal. While the BJP sees this as a necessary step for a free and fair poll, the TMC is likely to view it with suspicion. As the state waits for the Commission’s official supplementary list, Suvendu’s remarks have set the stage for a massive confrontation over the legitimacy of the voter rolls.
