5 Rallies in 2 Days! Mamata Banerjee Sets a Grueling Campaign Pace from North Bengal to Jangalmahal

With the 2026 Assembly polls drawing closer, Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee is all set to launch a high-octane campaign blitz starting this Tuesday. In a bid to cover maximum ground in the shortest time, the Chief Minister has planned five major public rallies within just 48 hours, spanning from the tea gardens of North Bengal to the rugged terrains of Jangalmahal. This comes right after her strategic meeting with party workers in her home constituency, Bhowanipore, on Sunday evening.

According to the finalized itinerary, the Chief Minister will formally begin her campaign on March 24 in North Bengal, a region where the BJP has maintained a significant foothold. She is scheduled to address a massive gathering at the Alipurduar Parade Ground, followed by two more rallies on the same day at Matigara in Darjeeling and Maynaguri in Jalpaiguri. By starting from the North, Mamata intends to send a clear message that the TMC is ready to reclaim the political territory it lost to the saffron camp in previous elections.

Immediately after the North Bengal leg, the campaign trail will shift to the politically sensitive Jangalmahal belt. Here, she is expected to address two more rallies focusing on the tribal and Kurmi vote banks. Party insiders suggest that the Chief Minister will heavily target the Centre over the controversial Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and the rising prices of LPG cylinders—issues that have already sparked widespread resentment. While Mamata leads the charge in the North and West, Abhishek Banerjee will spearhead rallies in the Southern districts, ensuring a comprehensive 360-degree campaign approach for the TMC.
