Bloodshed in Salt Lake; Techie on Uber Bike Crushed to Death by Dumper!

The nightmare of speeding heavy vehicles returned to the streets of Salt Lake late Friday night, claiming the life of a 30-year-old private firm employee. The victim, identified as Rimpa Dhara, a resident of Howrah, met with a fatal accident while returning home from work.

The incident occurred near the Wipro Bridge in Salt Lake’s Sector V area. Rimpa had booked an Uber bike to commute to her home in Howrah after finishing her shift. As the bike descended from the Wipro Bridge near Nicco Park, a speeding dumper rammed into the two-wheeler from behind. Rimpa was thrown onto the road and sustained critical injuries. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was tragically declared brought dead.

The Bidhannagar Police have seized the dumper and detained the driver for interrogation. Preliminary investigations suggest that the dumper was being driven recklessly, leading to the loss of control. Police are currently scanning CCTV footage from the bridge and surrounding intersections to reconstruct the sequence of events. The incident has once again sparked outrage over the movement of heavy vehicles and road safety during late-night hours in the IT hub.
