“Mamata Will Flee Bhawanipore!” Suvendu Adhikari’s Sensational Claim Sparks Political Storm in Bengal

The political atmosphere in West Bengal has reached a fever pitch following a startling claim by the Leader of Opposition, Suvendu Adhikari. Addressing a rally today, the BJP strongman asserted that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee would not contest from her traditional bastion of Bhawanipore this time. “Mamata is looking for a safe seat elsewhere because she knows that the people of Bhawanipore have decided to vote her out,” Suvendu remarked, stirring up a massive controversy.

Suvendu, who famously defeated Mamata in the Nandigram battle during the 2021 assembly elections, has once again issued a direct challenge to the TMC supremo. He claimed that the internal surveys of the ruling party are showing negative results for the Chief Minister in South Kolkata, which is why she is considering a shift. However, the Trinamool Congress has laughed off these claims, reminding Suvendu that Mamata won the Bhawanipore by-election with a record margin.

The BJP leader further added that he is ready to take on the Chief Minister in any constituency she chooses. He emphasized that the “Nandigram effect” is still haunting the TMC leadership. As the political tug-of-war intensifies, all eyes are now on the TMC’s candidate list. Whether Mamata chooses to stick to her roots or accepts a new challenge, Suvendu’s “prophecy” has successfully put the ruling camp on the defensive just before the polls.
