Maharashtra to become a $5 Trillion economy! Devendra Fadnavis unveils a bold roadmap to surpass global rivals
Maharashtra is gearing up to become a $5 trillion economy. Speaking virtually at the ‘Financial Freedom Summit 2026’ hosted by Money9, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that the state is on a mission to reach this massive milestone by 2047.
The Chief Minister asserted that Maharashtra currently leads India’s economic growth, and if considered an independent nation, it would outperform many global economies. To achieve this, the government has crafted a three-stage ‘roadmap,’ with further details expected soon.
Fadnavis highlighted that development is no longer confined to Mumbai and Pune. Significant investments and job opportunities are now reaching remote districts like Gadchiroli, Nandurbar, and Jalgaon. With a top-tier position in infrastructure projects, foreign investments, and startups, Maharashtra is now rapidly decentralizing its economic footprint to empower every corner of the state, fueling India’s overall economic ambition.
