Yogi Govt Unveils Mega ₹9.12 Lakh Cr UP Budget 2026! Free Scooters for Girls, 40 Lakh Tablets for Youth!

In a move set to reshape the socio-economic landscape of Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath presented a massive budget of ₹9,12,696 crore for the fiscal year 2026-27. This 10th budget under the Yogi administration is being seen as a strategic blueprint ahead of the 2027 elections, prioritizing education, healthcare, women’s empowerment, and rural development. The highlight of the budget is the ‘Rani Lakshmibai Yojana’, which allocates ₹400 crore to provide scooters to meritorious female students, alongside a ₹150 crore fund for the marriage of girls from underprivileged families.

The healthcare and education sectors received a significant “booster dose.” With an allocation of ₹1,023 crore for 14 new medical colleges, the number of MBBS seats in the state will surge from 4,540 to 12,800. For youth, the government has set a target of distributing 40 lakh tablets to bridge the digital divide and has launched the ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan’ with a ₹1,000 crore budget to foster 1 lakh micro-enterprises annually. Furthermore, the MSME sector, which employs over 31 million people in UP, received a support fund of ₹3,822 crore.

Infrastructure and tourism in cities like Lucknow and Ayodhya were given special focus. A state-of-the-art ‘Night Safari’ in Lucknow’s Kukrail area received ₹207 crore, while ₹150 crore was dedicated to enhancing amenities in the holy city of Ayodhya. Building on the success of ‘One District One Product’ (ODOP), the government introduced the ‘One District One Food’ scheme with a budget of ₹75 crore. Additionally, the Jal Jeevan Mission and Namami Gange projects received a combined ₹22,676 crore to ensure piped water reaches every household. With free electricity for farmers and extensive labor welfare schemes, Yogi Adityanath’s Budget 2026 aims to position Uttar Pradesh as the powerhouse of India’s growth.
