However, he remained defiant about the cause, stating that protests against the deletion of valid voters from the SIR lists would continue across West Bengal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mofakkerul\u2019s legal team argued that the &#8220;mastermind&#8221; label was a creation of the media and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. They claimed that while the incident occurred at Mothabari, the leader was delivering a speech 25 kilometers away in Suryapur. His lawyers alleged that the CM\u2019s premature branding of him as the mastermind before a full investigation is helping the real culprits hide.
