The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has emphasized the “One Kitchen, One Connection” policy. The primary concern cited is safety; having high-pressure piped gas alongside a pressurized LPG cylinder in the same kitchen significantly increases fire hazards. Furthermore, maintaining dual connections is seen as an inefficient use of national fuel resources. Under the new rules, oil marketing companies (OMCs) are authorized to identify and block LPG consumer IDs in zones where the pipeline network is fully operational.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For residents currently using both, the government suggests an immediate surrender or opting for the ‘Safe Custody’ of their LPG cylinders. Failure to comply within the stipulated timeframe could result in the permanent cancellation of the LPG connection and the forfeiture of any accumulated subsidies.
