Amidst the ongoing regional instability in West Asia, India has received a significant boost to its energy security. The Indian-flagged oil tanker ‘Jag Larky’, carrying approximately 80,800 tonnes of crude oil, has safely departed from the Fujairah port in the UAE. The arrivals are set to continue as two major LPG carriers\u2014’Shivalik’ and ‘Nanda Devi’\u2014operated by the Shipping Corporation of India, are en route with over 92,700 tonnes of LPG, destined for the Mundra and Kandla ports, respectively. Additionally, the ‘Senlong Suezmax’ has already arrived at the Mumbai coast with 1.4 lakh tonnes of crude oil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The safety of these vessels is being ensured through the Indian Navy’s ‘Operation Sankalp,’ with warships maintaining constant vigilance in the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf of Oman.
